Capabilities
IT & CTO/CIO management
Fractional technology leadership and the day-to-day support behind it.

Overview
Most small and mid-sized businesses do not need a full-time technology executive. They need the judgment of one for a few hours a month, and a team that will carry the decisions out. That is what a fractional CTO is: a senior technologist who learns your business, sets the direction, and stays accountable for the everyday IT that follows from it.
We have worked this way since 2003, for companies that range from a single office to operations spread across several sites.
What we do
- Fractional CTO and CIO. A senior technologist who joins your leadership conversations, owns the technology roadmap and budget, and answers to the owner.
- Technology reviews. A written assessment of your systems, vendors, costs and risks, with recommendations in priority order and an estimate beside each.
- Managed IT support. Day-to-day help for your staff, with every computer enrolled in remote management so most problems are fixed without waiting for a visit.
- Endpoint security and patching. Managed protection on every device, operating system and software updates applied on a schedule, and a report of what is and is not up to date.
- Microsoft 365. Administration, licensing and security settings, and migration from older or outgrown email services.
- Vendor and license management. One record of contracts, renewals and support agreements, and someone to deal with the vendors for you.
- Continuity planning. Backups, monitoring and a tested plan for losing a server, an internet connection or a whole site.
- Security reviews. Help answering customer and insurer security questionnaires, and independent external testing with a written report.
When to call us
- Technology decisions are made by whoever asks loudest, or by the vendor.
- Your IT person has left and nobody is sure what they looked after.
- You find out about problems when something stops working.
- A customer or insurer has sent a security questionnaire you cannot answer.
- Spending on software and services rises every year and nobody reviews it.
How we work
01
Review
We meet the owners and the people doing the work, then look at what is actually in place: systems, vendors, costs and risks.
02
Roadmap
You receive written findings and a prioritized plan with estimates, before anything is purchased.
03
Run
We carry out the plan and stay on for support, so the people who set the direction are the people who answer the ticket.
What we work with
- Productivity. Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint, and Google Workspace
- Device management. NinjaOne remote monitoring and mobile device management
- Endpoint security. SentinelOne
- Passwords and signing. 1Password and Dropbox Sign
- Warehouse devices. Zebra mobile computers and scanners
This is a sample of what we work with, not the full list. If your platform is not here, ask. We have very likely worked with it, or with something close to it.
