Approach
How we work
Enterprise-grade expertise, scaled to a small or mid-sized business budget. We take on the technology problems your team lacks the in-house resources to resolve.

In short
Every engagement follows the same path, whether it is a website, a network or a fractional CTO arrangement. We listen before we recommend, we put the plan in writing before we build, and the people who plan the work are the people who do it.
It is not a complicated method. It exists so that you always know what is being done, why, and what happens next.
The process
01
Listen
We start with a conversation about the business, not the technology: what you are trying to do, what is in the way and what has already been tried. A thirty-minute strategy call is usually enough to know whether we can help.
02
Assess
We look at what is actually in place. Depending on the work, that means a site visit, a review of your website and its tracking, or a study of your systems and code. We talk to the people who use them every day.
03
Plan
You receive our findings and a recommended plan in writing, in plain language and in order of priority. Nothing is purchased or built until you have approved it.
04
Build
We do the work in a staging copy wherever one exists, so you see real results before anything changes for your staff or customers. You hear from us regularly, and from the same people each time.
05
Launch
Changes go live at a planned time, around your business hours, with a way back if something is not right. We stay close in the days that follow.
06
Support and review
We hand over the documentation and train your team. Many clients keep us on for ongoing support, and we review the plan with you as the business changes.
What you can expect
- A written scope. What is included, what is not and what you will receive, agreed before work starts.
- One accountable team. The engineer who recommends the work carries it out and supports it afterwards.
- Plain language. Findings stated as business risks and options, not model numbers.
- Honest advice. We will tell you when something is not worth doing, or is not ready yet.
- Tested before it is live. Changes are tried in a staging copy, or outside business hours, first.
- Documentation you own. Diagrams, configurations and accounts stay in your company’s name.
- No surprises. Anything outside the agreed scope is raised with you before it is done.
Ways to work with us
- Projects. A defined piece of work with a start, an end and agreed deliverables: a new website, a network rebuild, a cloud migration.
- Ongoing support. Day-to-day care of your IT, network, website or integrations under a standing agreement.
- Fractional leadership. A senior technologist acting as your CTO or CIO for a few hours a month.
- Alongside your team or agency. Engineering capacity for an in-house IT lead, or for a marketing agency that has the strategy and needs it built.
What we ask of you
- A decision-maker we can reach.
- Access to the systems involved, and to the people who use them.
- An honest picture of what has and has not worked before.
- Time to review what we send you, so the work is not held up.
