Challenge
Buying and selling vehicles at volume involves many systems that do not naturally talk to each other: a CRM, a phone system, text messaging, vehicle valuations, auction partners, transport and payments.
Without a connection between them, staff re-key the same deal in several places, and a status change at a partner is only noticed when somebody checks.
Approach
We build and maintain the layer that connects these systems, and we add to it as the business changes.
- Share valuations with partners automatically through a documented interface.
- Tie calls and text messages to the customer record in the CRM.
- Bring in status updates from transport and auction partners as they happen.
- Run scheduled jobs for routine follow-up, with alerts when one fails.
- Add administration screens so the team can change rules without a developer.
Result
The work has continued for five years on the same platform, which now carries the daily operation from first quote to final paperwork.
- One record of each deal.
- New partners added without rebuilding what exists.
- Less re-keying, and fewer errors from it.
Our advice
Integration is never finished, because the systems on either side keep changing. Plan for a partner who will maintain it, not only build it.
